Sagolband MLA dedicates community hall

Sagolband MLA RK Imo Singh on Sunday inaugurated the Shree Shree Radha Mandop Ngashang (community hall) at Keishampat Thokchom Leikai, constructed at an approximate cost of Rs 32 lakh, in the presence of IMC caretaker corporators RK Jiten Singh and Salam Tiken Singh, Sagolband Mandal president Ruhikanta Sharma, social worker L Shivananda, and community leaders.
During the inauguration, RK Imo emphasised ongoing developmental projects in Ward No 8, including enhancements of the community hall complex with a lawn and pond.
He also highlighted the installation of rooftop solar system across Sagolband constituency, funded by the Local Area Development Fund, and the near-completion of the retaining wall of Nambul river in Paona Bazar area, which was damaged by floods.

Plans for new retaining walls at Moirang Leirak Crematorium and Amudon Leirak were also announced to address flood-related water leakage issues.
Additionally, the local MLA mentioned the upcoming commissioning of the Tera overhead reservoir, with trial runs underway to assess water pressure.
He assured that more development projects would be inaugurated in the coming months.
On the political front, RK Imo stressed the importance of detecting illegal immigrants and implementing the National Register of Citizens (NRC) before the delimitation process, as ordered by the Supreme Court.
Recalling that the previous government, under the leadership of then chief minister N Biren Singh, had uncovered 65,000 fake Aadhaar cards, Imo called for the elimination of fake Aadhaar cards to ensure a reliable linkage with voter IDs.
The MLA also advocated for reserving the 40 valley seats for the indigenous people of the valley, stating that a representation would be filed with the union home minister to seek constitutional protection for these seats.
