GOC-in-C, IPS officers meet Governor

GOC-in-chief, Eastern Command lieutenant general RP Kalita on Wednesday met Governor Anusuiya Uikey at Raj Bhavan, here, and discussed about the prevailing situation and the security measures in place to contain/prevent any violent and major untoward incidents in Manipur.
The army chief also discussed the steps taken up to restore normalcy at the earliest as the Governor shared her suggestions for restoring peace in the state to the army chief.
She further advised the general officer to safeguard the lives of people and bring normalcy in the state.
Accompanied by Spear Corps GOC and other army officers, Lt Gen Kalita also called on chief minister Shri N Biren Singh and discussed the current security scenario in the state as well as various aspects related to strengthening cooperation and ensuring security for the people of Manipur.
Meanwhile, IPS probationers of 2021 and 2022 Batch - Abhinav, Dharmendra Kumar, Gaurav-Dogra, and Prakhar Pandey called on Governor Anusuiya at the Raj Bhavan, on Wednesday during which the Governor extended warm welcome to the visiting IPS officers and encouraged them to execute their duty diligently in the interest of the countrymen and to work for the welfare of the country.
With regard to the prevailing situation in the state, she informed about the various initiatives taken up by her office to bring amicable solutions between both the communities in conflict.
She also advised the IPS probationers to understand the present situation in the state.
