109 Bn CRPF launches 30-day tailoring skill development programme at Senapati

In a significant initiative aimed at community empowerment and sustainable livelihood generation, the 109 Battalion of the Central Reserve Force (CRPF), under the aegis of the Manipur and Nagaland Sector, inaugurated a 30-day Tailoring Skill Development Programme at Senapati on Friday.
According to a release issued by the 109 Bn CRPF, the programme, organised as part of the CRPF's ongoing Civic Action Programme (CAP), is designed to promote skill development, self-reliance and economic empowerment among local youth and women, particularly residents of Khabung Karong village.
The inaugural function was led by Nula Bhim, Assistant Commandant, 109 Bn CRPF, on behalf of Brijesh Kumar, Commandant, 109 Bn CRPF.
The event also witnessed the participation of several high ranking officials and local stakeholders, reflecting a strong spirit of cooperation and communal harmony.
Speaking on the occasion, Nula Bhim reiterated that the CRPF's commitment extends beyond ensuring security to supporting the prosperity and self-sufficiency of the region.
He stated that such initiatives help strengthen the bond of "service and loyalty" between the force and the people.
Gracing the occasion as guest of honour, Adahrii Maheo, MCS (CEO, ADC), lauded the CRPF's efforts in bridging the gap between security forces and the civilian population through constructive and development-oriented engagement.
He emphasized the importance of vocational training in strengthening local economies and creating sustainable employment opportunities.
S Thekho Pou, Joint Registrar of Cooperative Societies, highlighted the scope for trainees to form cooperative societies and access broader markets, while representatives from Ashu Handloom Weavers Cooperative Society Ltd, shared technical insights into the textile industry.
The month-long programme will focus on stitching, garment design and tailoring techniques, while also fostering entrepreneurial skills and confidence among the trainees.
The event witnessed a robust turnout, including the village chairman, local elders and an enthusiastic batch of trainees who are set to embark on a month-long journey of skill acquisition.
