Health Department deploys 16 Health RRT to support flood victims

Imphal, June 04 2025:
In the wake of the widespread floods affected several areas of the State, the Department of Health Services, Government of Manipur has deployed 16 Health Rapid Response Team (RRT) for Imphal East, Imphal West and Senapati districts.
The teams visited the flood related relief camps identified by the District Administrations in Imphal East, Imphal West and Senapati districts, and examined the inmates.
Medicines and other medicinal items like ORS, antibiotic ointments and first aid items, etc were also distributed.
Additionally, the teams gave awareness on water borne diseases like diarrhoea, typhoid, hepatitis A, etc.
The importance of hand washing before eating and after coming out from toilets were also highlighted.
Imphal East
Two rapid response team consisting of doctor, nurse and other paramedical staffs visited eight flood relief camps namely Meitei Mayek School, OLA Lampak Flood Relief Camp; ISBT, Dingku Road Flood Relief Camp; Youth Hostel Khuman Lampak Flood Relief Camp; Kongba Laishram Leikai Loushing Shanglen Flood Relief Camp; Khurai Chingangbam, Khurai Ningthoubung, Khurai Laishram, Khurai Sajor Leikai Relief Camp; Bashikhong Torban Community Hall Relief Camp; Bashikhong Kongba Irong Flood Relief Camp; and Bashikhong Panthoibi Youth Club Flood Relief Camp.
Altogether, 334 individuals were examined for various health care concerns by the rapid response teams.
Imphal West
Three rapid response team consisting of doctor, nurse and other paramedical staffs visited four flood relief camps namely Khonghampat Khunou Flood Relief Camp; Hayel Community Hall Flood Relief Camp; Awang Sekmai Parao Community Hall Flood Relief Camp and Kanglatongbi Hatikhawa Flood Relief Camp.
Altogether, 74 individuals were examined for various health care concerns.
Senapati
Rapid response teams visited ADC Relief Camp Senapati where 148 inmates were present.
The teams provided free health examinations to 24 individuals staying in the camp.
Moreover, the Health Department has also established a call centre '104' for any grievances related to health activities in flood affected areas.
