Buying all the products made by the inmates which include bamboo baskets, bamboo stool and candles, Dr Sanabam Thaninleima of Samvardhini Nyas Sanskrit Kala Darshan Manipur said that her organisation has been providing various relief materials to the inmates of relief camps opened in different parts of the state ever since the crisis broke out in the state on May 3 last.
However, during their visit to the relief camps for providing relief materials, it was found that the inmates have no means of livelihood.
So she suggested the inmates to make anything which they are expert in.
She also informed the inmates that there would be no problem in selling their products, Thaninleima said and added that the products purchased from the inmates would be sold to the meira paibi associations and in all the households in Imphal.
One inmate also informed that earlier she used to make bamboo baskets for putting fishes and had a hard time in selling her products.
However, now she has no problem in selling her products as there is a women body to buy all her products.
Therefore, she would try and make more products to increase her income.
