UPC Nambol not to endorse two-day public curfew

Imphal, September 07 2023:
United Protection Committee (UPC) Nambol, a united body of 112 different clubs, organisation and Meira Paibi Lup of Konthoujam, Nambol, Oinam, Naoriya Pakhanglakpa and Wangoi assembly constituencies, would not be supporting the two-day public curfew announced by TAKDAL, a united body of Thoubal and Kakching district while urging them to reconsider their decision keeping in view of the hardships facing by the people.
In a statement, UPC said that the general public are already facing severe hardships due to the current crisis and curfew imposed by the government.
Apart from injuries suffered during movement, several families are facing severe financial crisis and disruption in normal activities would further take them to the brink of financial disaster, the statement said.
Keeping in view of these hardships, UPC will not support the two-day public curfew, the statement said while urging the public to Carry out their normal trades and activities.
It further stated that UPC will fully endorse any movement other than public curfew.
