The high-level meeting, which lasted for four hours, was presided over by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge and attended by senior leaders, including Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi and AICC general secretary (organisation) KC Venugopal.
During the session, Rahul Gandhi interacted with the delegations from various states and union territories to assess the organisational readiness of the Congress party across the country.
From Manipur, the Kakching DCC president was randomly selected by Rahul Gandhi to present a report on the current status of the organisation's activities in the state.
The interaction, conducted in Manipuri, was translated into English by Meghachandra.
The meeting yielded a new strategy aimed at strengthening the Congress party nationwide under the leadership of Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi.
The party provided training to PCCs on areas such as membership drives, social media management, and safeguarding party assets.
Described as a historic event, the meeting witnessed the participation of 338 DCC presidents from 13 states and three UTs.
It was conducted in a two-sided dialogue format, where district leaders were encouraged to voice their views and suggestions alongside the top leadership.
Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge underscored the pivotal role of DCC presidents in carrying the party's message and ideology to every household as Rahul Gandhi emphasised that the DCCs serve as the foundation of the party.
The meeting marked the first phase of a series of such interactions.
The second phase, covering additional states, is scheduled for April 3 and 4 and will conclude before the upcoming Gujarat session of the AICC .
