3 UG cadres arrested, arms recovered

Imphal, April 24 2025:
Continuing operations to restore law and order in the state, security forces, on Wednesday, arrested three active members of outlawed organisations and recovered a large cache of arms and ammunition from different areas.
According to the police control room, an active member of Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP-Nongdrenkhomba), identified as Loushambam Sundar Singh alias Bung-bung (34), was apprehended from near Nongpok Sanjenbam Khullen market shed under Lamlai police station.
He was allegedly involved in extortion activities.
In another operation, Loitongbam Naoba Singh (27), an active member of the People's Revolutionary Party of Kangleipak (PREPAK), was arrested from Sawombung-Pourabi area, also under Lamlai PS.
He was reportedly engaged in extortion.
Meanwhile, security personnel apprehended a member of Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL), identified as Sairem Ibungo (45) from keibi Heikak Mapal under Sagolmang PS.
From his possession, a four-wheeler, two mobile phones, a wallet containing Rs 2,600, and other items were seized.
During a separate operation at Pourabi village under Lamlai PS, security forces recovered SMG carbines with magazines, a 9 mm pistol, various types of live ammunition, hand grenades, wireless sets, mortar shells, tear smoke shells, and explosives.
In an earlier drive on April 22, police recovered six stolen or snatched vehicles.
As part of the same operation, tinted glasses were removed from 56 vehicles to ensure compliance with legal norms.
