Denizens urged to explore Rashtriya Raksha University facilities

Imphal, April 22 2025: Official representatives of Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU), Pasighat Campus, called upon the people of Manipur, especially the students, to avail educational and professional opportunities available at the RRU, particularly for candidates from the Northeast.

Briefing the media on Tuesday at the Manipur Press Club, the officials informed that Rashtriya Raksha University, established under the Ministry of Home Affairs, is India's premier national security and policing institution.

As the nation's first dedicated university for education, research and training in the field of national security, RRU has been designated by the Prime Minister as a future "Centre of Excellence for National Security and Defence Management," with an emphasis on emerging technologies, they said.

In keeping with this vision, the Pasighat Campus remains committed to delivering rigorous, research-driven instruction and training tailored to the requirements of the Northeast.

Avinash Kharel, director-in-charge RRU Pasighat Campus, and Dr M Sanjiv Singh, state director, outlined the University's initiatives to broaden its academic reach and to increase enrolment among young aspirants from Manipur.

According to director Kharel, the University offers a range of undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across three core disciplines: Police Science and Management; Disaster Management and National Security; and Security and Strategic Studies.

In addition, the campus provides specialised certifications in Cyber Security, Forensic Science, and Language Studies, he said, while highlighting the University's mission and its growing role in nation-building through security and policing education.

Addressing the unique security challenges of the Northeast, RRU Pasighat Campus has developed targeted training modules for both aspiring students and in-service personnel, aligning with contemporary internal security and policing demands.

The campus plans to expand its curriculum further, introducing advanced courses in counter-terrorism, intelligence analysis, criminal investigation, national security policy, defence and strategic studies and international relations, he maintained.
