Imphal, April 03 2025:
Raising several demands including extension of service, All Manipur VDF Employees' Welfare Association cautioned of launching protest if their demands are not fulfilled within April 10 .
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club Thangjing Hall here on Thursday, Association president Laishom Deben informed that their services had been extended annually by the Home Department.
However, the extension granted last year lapsed on March 31, with the Home Department yet to extend their services.
He demanded extension of services as usual at the earliest.
Despite discharging duty, including additional responsibilities due to the on-going conflict, VDF personnel do not receive their monthly honorarium while other essential fund meant for the VDF is yet to be released since the past two years.
He further appealed to release the pending fund and also demanded increase of monthly entitlement as the honorarium paid does not reflect nature of their duties.
Demanding department concerned to honour the demands within April 10, he cautioned that the association is prepared to launch intense agitation from the next day itself.
