MAYOL's awareness campaign continues

The mass campaign on "Eikhoigi Anouba Lang-on Gi Vote" of Manipur Youth League (MAYOL), which was launched on March 24 at Khwairamband Ima Keithel, continued at different locations across the state.
In a release, MAYOL publicity secretary Mayengbam Premananda said that as part of the campaign, a local leaders' meet was organised at Heingang Makha Leikai community hall on Sunday which was attended by representatives of 14 local clubs along with meira paibi members.
The meeting, which was also attended by members of MAYOL and Heingang United Club Organisation (HUCO), adopted a number of resolutions including rejection of money offered by candidates, refrain from proxy voting, non-participation in election-related road shows and rallies, firmly oppose use of muscle and money power in election, and proper exercise of voting rights.
The meeting had Economic and Resource Development Organisation (ERDO) secretary Nahakpam Shanta as speaker.
The release further informed that a similar campaign was held at Wangoi Longjam Leikai community hall with participation of members of clubs and meira paibi activists followed by adoption of various resolutions.
The programme was attended by advocate Sukham Premjit and retired IAS RK Nimai as speakers while MAYOL president Ashem Prince delivered the keynote address, the release added.
