BSF selects 45 girls for Project Pranita

'Project Pranita', an initiative of the Border Security Force (BSF) in Manipur in collaboration with Marriot Group, was flagged off BSF IG by Ravi Kant and Marriot World Wide Business Council head Sanjay Gupta at the Koirengei headquarters of BSF Sector on Wednesday July and at Gospel Centenary Hall, Churachandpur on Thursday.
The flag-off ceremonies were attended by dignitaries from civil, CAPF and Army, along with 45 girls selected from Meetei, Naga and Kuki communities, along with their parents.
According to a BSF statement, 'Project Pranita' aims to offer skill based training, practical exposure of the hospitality industry to girls from economically disadvantaged background, and enable long term employment and empowerment.
Informing that the project is being implemented within the broader framework of 'Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao' Mission to provide skill development through quality training, formal education and also generating employment in Marriott Hotel Chain.
Under the Project, selected candidates will pursue a fully sponsored 3-year BA in Tourism Studies (IGNOU) and receive hands-on training in 5-star Marriott Hotels across India.
The training includes rotation in hotel departments, specialization, and professional mentorship.
Additional benefits include monthly stipends (Rs 10,000-Rs 15,000), free uniforms, meals, accommodation, paid leave, insurance, and job placement upon completion.
BSF actively facilitated and helped Marriott Group of Hotels to identify and uplift underprivileged girls from different communities through skill development in the hospitality sector.
The 45 girls were selected out of 70 applicants through a transparent process assisted by BSF in Imphal and Churachandpur.
The Force also facilitated community outreach, preparatory training, travel coordination, and documentation.
Once the programme commences, the Marriott Group will ensure further training, welfare, and employment of the candidates.
Project Pranita reflects BSF's commitment towards inclusive development and peace-building in Manipur by creating life-changing opportunities for young girls, irrespective of their communities, conveyed the BSF statement issued by its public relations officer.
