Pareihanba defies all odds to become HSLC topper

Imphal, June 16 2023: Defying all odds, Yengk-hom Pareihanba, who had to frequently change schools due to health and financial issues but managed to get admitted to Ratankumar Memorial School, has finally brought laurels for the school as well as for his family as he topped the class X examination conducted by the Board of Secondary Education Manipur (BoSEM) .

Pareihanba scored 594 marks out of 600 to secure the first position in the examination.

He scored letter marks in all the subjects.

Pareihanba is the eldest of two sons of Yengkhom Sukumar and Renu of Kwakeithel Heinoukhongnembi.

His father is a Grade IV employee in MSPDCL.

Speaking to The People's Chronicle, Pareihanba informed that as he had health issues he had to face many problems while pursuing his studies.

Moreover, since his family could not afford to pay tuition as well as admission fees, he studied at Regular School, Kwakeithel till class VI and had to leave the school before completing class VI.

He enrolled in the same class at Ratankumar Memorial School where the school principal helped him considering the financial problems of his family.

The topper informed that he desires to take' up medical courses but also has interest in appearing in civil service examination and get into administrative services.

He wished to get enrolled in a good private school for pursuing his higher secondary studies.
