KNO leader TS Haokip no more

The defence secretary of Kuki National Organisation (KNO) Thongsei Haokip alias TS Haokip passed away on Sunday at Rajiv Gandhi Cancer Hospital, New Delhi after prolonged fight against cancer.
He was 51.Thongsei was one of the signatories of the Suspension of Operation (SoO) agreement between Kuki militant groups and the government of India and Manipur.
As per sources, mortal remains of TS Haokip will be flown from Delhi and buried at his B Vengnom Lamka residence on November 15.Meanwhile, United People's Front, (UPF) and Kuki National Organization (KNO/KNF) have condoled the sudden demise of TS Haokip.
UPF and KNO are the two conglomerate organisations of Kuki militant groups currently engaging in political talks with the Government of India to find a solution to the vexed political issue of Kuki-Zo people after signing the SoO agreement.
While offering heartfelt condolences, UPF chairman ST Thangboi Kipgen remembered TS Haokip as a dedicated leader who served the Kuki-Zo national cause with integrity and reliability.
TS Haokip's legacy will persist in the annals of Kuki history, he said, adding that the vacuum created by his demise would be a paramount task for both the leaders of UPF and KNO to fill in.
The UPF chairman also conveyed his deepest sympathy and grief to beloved family of the deceased and cadres and leaders of KNO.
Meanwhile, Kuki National Front (KNF), the parent organisation of Kuki armed groups, also conveyed its deepest condolences over the untimely demise of TS Haokip and described the deceased militant leader as a man with great intent and dedication.
KNF also expressed its earnest commiseration to the deceased's beloved wife and siblings and also to cadres and leaders of KNO.
