Bishnupur, November 13 2023:
Discontent with the "double-engine" Government's handling of the six month old crisis, the Manipur Youth Students Union (MYSU) has questioned the Government's agenda behind remaining as a mere observer of the violence.
Wahengbam Tanu Chanu, president, MYSU raised the poser during the commencement of the Union's relief initiative wherein blankets were distributed to conflict survivors, especially senior citizens aged 70+ years.
MYSU's aid campaign was launched today leading up to the Union's 2nd foundation day which falls on November 18 and considering the plights of the conflict survivors.
Speaking in this connection, Wahengbam Tanu Chanu commented on the Government's failure to resolve the ongoing conflict and questioned if they will continue to watch as more people become victims of violence.
She thus urged the legislators to give more weight to their motherland to resolve the conflict instead of assigning more importance to their respective political parties.
Today, the Manipur Youth Students Union team led by Wahengbam Tanu distributed blankets to 21 senior citizens sheltering at the temporary shelter homes at Kwakta Sericulture Training Institute Complex and Lamjao Makha Leikai Relief Camp under Moirang Assembly Constituency.
Notably, the blankets were donated by one Thangjam Jona from Salungpham Kangyambem.
