Imphal, January 24 2026:
Taking serious note of the rising cases of crimes and violence against women and the emergence of pimps in Manipur in recent years, the proscribed PREPAK has warned three individuals and their associates to come to the party by January 31 .
A statement issued by the outfit's Publicity Officer, Department of Publicity and Propaganda Mangal Khuman claimed that the outfit has investigated and found evidence of some individuals using young girls and young married women as a trading commodity.
These individuals have been supplying women to men for sexual pleasure, it said.
Investigation by the outfit found that some individuals including women have been using a rented house located at Mantripukhri as a whorehouse where young girls and women are supplied to customers/clients.
Those individuals who have been supplying women to customers at Mantripukhri include Thingbaijam Thoihenba alias Ibungo Singh s/o Indrajit Singh of Irom Meijrao Mamang Leikai, Rebiya Leimapokpam d/o Jilangamba of Konjeng Leikai Kouna Thabi and Tektek alias Juliya d/o Bungcha alias Premkumar Sougrakpam of Irom Meijrao Maning Leikai, it alleged.
Thoihenba alias Ibungo and Rebiya Leimapokpam were rounded up by local club volunteers and Meira Paibis while they were carousing and engaging in immoral acts inside a white car (Maruti Swift) at Irom Meijrao Maning Leikai on January 18, 2026, the outfit said.
The outfit then asked all the three individuals and their associates to come to the party by January 31 .
It said that the number of people who see women as sexual objects and trading commodities has been rising day by day in the State.
Apart from suffering continuous oppression and repression under the alien, more than 8,993 people have been killed in the last few years in Kangleipak.
No other State of India has witnessed such a high rate of killing, it said.
The outfit cited the cases of Tangkhul Chanu Rose, Thangjam Manorama etc .
It also cited the recent case of Oinam (ningol) Thoibi alias Pisakmacha Devi (76) who was found brutally murdered by her own nephew at her home at Singjamei Oinam Thingel Makha Leikai.
Since Kangleipak was brought into the realm of Indian culture, the tradition of equal participation of men and women in the many activities of the community and the Nation has been distorted, it said.
The outfit underscored the need for political measures in order to empower women.
This will go a long way in addressing the issue of crime and violence against women, it said.
But socio-political and economic empowerment of women will be hard to achieve as long as Kangleipak remains under the alien rule.
As such, the womenfolk need to take more pro-active roles in the struggle to break the alleged colonial yoke, it added.
