Don Bosco Hr Sec School, Maram outshines others

The results of Higher Secondary Examinition-2010 conducted by the Council of Higher Secondary Education, Manipur were declared today.
Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (Arts & Commerce), Maram outshone the rest in the examination bagging two top positions in Arts and Commerce streams.
Dinringam Kamei, son of Nagahillieu Kamei of Pungsan, Khoupum, of Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (Arts & Commerce), Maram bagged the first position in Arts stream.
Harish Chander Joshi, son of MN Joshi of Bhanotya, Uttarakhand, of Don Bosco Hr Sec School (Arts & Commerce), Maram stood the first position in Commerce stream.
Pushpanjali Takhellambam, daughter of Bhupenkumar Takhellambam of Wangkhei Angom Leikai of Human Resource Development Academy, Ghari, stood the first position in Science stream.
In all, 29 students shared the first top 20 positions in Arts stream.
Among them were nine students from Don Bosco Hr Sec School (Arts & Commerce), Maram alone.
Eight students of Government Hr Sec Schools were also among the 29 position holders.
In Commerce stream, out of five top position holders, the first four position holders belonged to Don Bosco Hr Sec School (Arts & Commerce), Maram alone.
The fifth position holder was Thoudam Sana Devi of TG Hr Sec School, daughter of Th Lembi Devi of Sekta Makha Leikai.
In Science stream, a total number of 32 students shared the first 20 positions.
Except Nongmaithem Nilima of TG Hr Sec School, who stood the third position, there was no other student of Government Hr Sec School among the position holders.
Out of 18,819 candidates who appeared in the examination in all three steams, 5,343 students were declared passed in first division, 8,001 students in second division and 945 in third division.
There were 102 students declared simply passed.
A total of 14,391 students passed the examination.
The pass percentage was 76.47 making it the first time that the highest number of students passed the Higher Secondary examination in the past four year.
Dinringam Kamei of Don Bosco Hr Sec School (Arts & Commerce), Maram scored 403 marks with letter marks in four subjects, the highest in Arts stream.
Mercy Lalumpui of V.K.Tawna College, Lamka, Churachandpur bagged the second position scoring 396 marks with letters in two subjects.
Pushpanjali Takhellambam scored 478 marks with letters in six subjects in science stream.
Kangjam Devishri of Herbert School, Changangei, Airport Rd who stood the second position in Science stream scored 460 marks with letters in six subjects.
