Organisations reach out to flood-hit denizens

Many organisations and individuals continue to extend assistance to the flood-affected people, who are currently seeking shelter in various relief camps.
On Wednesday, Delhi-based Manipuri cuisine restaurant, 'Chakkhum' donated edibles and essential items to the relief camps opened at Khuman Lampak Youth Hostel and Netaji Memorial Club, Khurai Kongpal Thoubalkhong.
Volunteers of Arambai Tenggol and Meitei Council Moreh distributed safe drinking water to the relief camp set up at Porompat Veterinary campus.
Representatives of Ram Krishna Mission, Imphal and CO-COMI donated relief materials to around 150 members of 40 families currently seeking shelter at the community hall in Lairikyengbam Makha Maning Leikai.

The relief items were also donated to the relief camps opened at Netaji Memorial Club and at Wangkhei Puja Lampak.
Meanwhile, the CCian Group, consisting of the alumni of the 1993-97 batch distributed food items in various flood affected areas in Khurai.
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Manipur Prant and Manipur Seva Committee also assisted the flood-affected people.

In a release by RSS Manipur Prant Sah Prachar Pramukh Imphal Vibhag, RSS Swayamsevaks reached out to around 3251 households affected by the floods and staying in relief camps at Wangkhei Keithel Ashangbi, Meihoubam Lampak, Ayangpalli Heinou Makhong, Kongpal, Khurai Sajor Leiki, Popular High School relief camp, Heikrumakhing relief camp, Salanthong relief camp, Nongmeibung relief camp and other areas on June 1 .
Moreover, Swayamsevaks rescued 25 people, as per RSS Imphal Zila Kariyabha (general secretary) Brahmacharimayum Bilki Sharma.
Around 250 Swayamsevaks came forward to help as first responders, the release said.
