DISHA meeting reviews status of projects in Imphal West

The first round of the District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee (DISHA) meeting for Imphal West was held at Kombirei Hall, Imphal West DC office complex on Friday.
Chaired by MP Dr Angomcha Bimol Akoijam who is also the chairperson of the DISHA committee, the meeting organised by the district administration focused on reviewing the progress of centrally sponsored schemes (CSS) being implemented in the district.
Dr Bimol Akoijam underscored the importance of holding quarterly DISHA meetings to enhance coordination and ensure effective implementation of government initiatives, and said that DISHA meetings serve a crucial role in facilitating stock trading and improving coordination among government departments in Manipur.

He also stressed the need for regular monitoring and on-site inspections to assess progress and address challenges.
Highlighting the role of transparency and accountability, Dr Bimol Akoijam urged district level officers (DLOs) and implementing agencies to work diligently, ensuring that government schemes translate into tangible benefits for the people.
He called for greater focus on sectors like health, education, infrastructure, and livelihood development.
During the meeting, DLOs presented updates on various initiatives, including education schemes such as Zonal Education Officers on PM POSHAN, Samagra Shiksha, Scholarship, District Agriculture Office (DAO) and District Horticulture Office (DHO) on Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana (RKVY), Paramparagat Krishi Vikas Yojana (PKVY), Soil Health Card(SHC), e-National Agriculture Market (eNAM), Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana (PMFBY), Agriculture Infrastructure Fund (AIF) and various other schemes.
The session was attended by Imphal West DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh, representatives of other assembly constituencies, elected members of local bodies, nominees of the DISHA committee and DLOs reinforcing a collective commitment to advancing development efforts in Imphal West.
