DCs' highlight achievements at district level I-Day celebrations

Noney, August 16 2022: Like in every part of the state and country, Noney district administration on Monday joined the celebration of 76th Independence Day of India with much pomp and grandeur at Longmai common ground, Noney.

As chief guest of the celebration, DC Haulianlal Guite highlighted on the significance of celebrating Independence Day and commended the leadership of chief minister N Biren Singh in bringing law and order stability and accelerating infrastructure development in the state.

He also thanked the denizens for their wholehearted participation in the Har Ghar Thanga movement and highlighted various infrastructure projects already completed or are under-construction in the district.

DC Guite also expressed gratitude to officers and personnel of Assam Rifles, Territorial Army, CRPF, SDRF, NDRF, CSOs and state government for playing a remarkable role and also for providing logistic support during the recent Makhuam landslide.

The celebration began with the DC unfurling the tricolour at the Longmai common ground in the presence of 13 contingents of police, students, Assam Rifles band party and cultural troupes which took part in the march past, as well as top officials of police and civil administration.

Awards were also distributed to persons for their distinctive contribution in various fields during the function.

KAKCHING: The district administration celebrated the 76th Independence Day at Sumak Leikai ground, here with deputy commissioner Somorjit Salam hoisting the National Flag as the chief guest, reviewing the parade and taking salutes from the marching contingents.

Addressing the gathering, Somorjit Salam said that we must never forget sacrifices made by the freedom fighters and stressed the need for building strong sense of nationalism and patriotism.

Apart from highlighting achievements of the country in different sectors since gaining independence from the British rule, he said Kakching district has also seen significant progress and development though it is a very young district and still lacks requisite infrastructure.

Altogether, 14 contingents took part in the Celebration and cultural items presented by Centre for Performing Arts, Kakching; Kom Cultural troupe, Mantak village; and Ibuthou Khamlangba Thangta Academy, Kakching In the march past competition, Umathel JNV (Girls) bagged first position while ICDS project Kakching and Kakching Higher Secondary (Girls) were adjudged second and third position winners respectively.

CCPUR: Churachandpur joined the rest of the country in celebrating 75 years of India's Independence with the district-level programme held at Public Ground, Hiangtam Lamka.

DC Dr Sharath Chandra Arroju hoisted the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute as the chief guest from the 17 parade contingents commanded by SDPO (Churachandpur) Priscilla Tuboi.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr Arroju paid tributes to freedom fighters who took part in shaping the glorious history of the people, culture, and achievements.

Among others, he mentioned that Churachandpur Medical College will be inaugurated September and highlighted the achievements and contributions of various departments and offices towards development of the district.

The celebration was also held at Sub divisional headquarters and other government institutions of the district.

PHERZAWL: The 76th Independence Day was celebrated by maintaining the pre-' scribed SOPs at Pherzawl playground on Monday.

Deputy commissioner Joseph Pauline Kamson hoisted the Tri-Colour and took salute from the marching contingents commanded by Thanlon SDPO Golamthang Hatzaw.

The contingents comprised Civil Police & VDF, Students and HYA Women.

Addressing the gathering, Joseph Kamson maintained that in spite of the challenges faced due to its location in the remotest part of the state, the district administration has been working hard to develop the required infrastructure, bring good governance which is transparent and inclusive for the people of Pherzawl.

Thanking the DLOs, SDO, village authorities and other stakeholders for their cooperation in the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, the DC said a series of events had been organised from August 13 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of country's independence under the banner of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

JIRIBAM: The district administration celebrated India's 76th Independence Day at Jiribam Higher Secondary School playground on Monday with DC W Malemnganba Chenglei hoisting the tricolour and taking salute from the march past contingents commanded by Jiribam SDPO TS Chamna Anal.

Altogether 13 contingents from 87 Bn CRPF, 7th IRB, Jiribam Police, Jiri College Boys and Girls contingents, Jiribam Higher Secondary School Boys and Girls contingents and 6 contingents from various Government schools of Jiribam participated in the march past.

Commendations and Appreciation certificates were awarded to 62 government employees of various departments in recognition of their valuable services rendered to Jiribam district.

Cash rewards were also distributed to all the march part contingents, pilots, bugler, cultural troupes and singers of patriotic songs.

As part of the celebration, Manipur Today Special Issue published by DIPR Manipur was also distributed to the gathering.

BISHNUPUR: The District administration celebrated 76th Independence Day with patriotic fervour at Mini Secretariat Complex here.

Deputy commissioner Lourembam Bikram hoisted the National Flag and took salute from the 17 participating parade contingents commanded by SDPO Bishnupur Manoj Prabhakar.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Bikram recounted that the district was conferred the prestigious 'PM Award for Excellence in Public Administration 2021' for best performance in implementation of 'Promoting Excellence in Sports and Wellness through Khelo India Scheme'.

Lauding the talented sportspersons of the district who have won medals at national and international competitions despite lack of state-of-the-art infrastructure, he said that the district administration is striving to develop sports infrastructure under Khelo India Scheme.

He also informed that District Sports Development Fund, the first of its kind in the state, has been established for providing gap filling funds to athletes of the district.

He also reflected on initiatives for development of requisite infrastructures with emphasis on education, forest, agricultural and tourism sectors.

SENAPATI: The district administration celebrated 76th Independence Day at Mini Stadium, Senapati during which DC Mahesh Chaudhari hoisted the National flag and took the salutes from the parade contingent.

Speaking on the occasion, Mahesh Chaudhari congratulated the denizens for having made a fruitful celebration after two years' gap due to Covid pandemic and also applauded various government officials and CSO leaders for their cooperation towards celebration of the Independence Day.

Among other achievements mentioned in his speech, the DC commended the district police for their successful campaign on war against drugs along with the forest department.

He also thanked CEO, ADC Senapati and his team for making the town clean.

The march past was commanded by Mao SDPO H Timothy Maram.

In the march past competition in general category, St Anthony School boys' contingent won the first position, Mt Everest Hr Sec School girls' contingent second and DV School boys' contingent third position, In the NCC category, Mt Everest Hr Sec School girls' contingent was declared winner of the first position, Don Bosco Hr Sec School Scout & Guide second and Mt Zion Hr Sec School third position.

Commendation certificate were handed over to 27 police personnel and 43 government officials for their outstanding cooperation to the district administration.

Winner of painting competition held during Har Ghar Tiranga campaign organised by Senapati District Police and ZEO & ADC were also felicitated during the event.

Later, an exhibition football match was played between the District Administration, Senapati and Civil Society Organisation at the Mini Stadium. TENGNOUPAL: The district administration celebrated the 75th Independence Day, 2022 at Tengnoupal Government High School ground on Monday.

Addressing the gathering, DC Mannuamching said the district has seen notable progress in sectors such as education, road connectivity, power, health and sanitation including the government schemes to uplift the lives of the livelihood, sanitation, etc.

She also encouraged the people to motivate themselves to work selflessly towards nation building and to be ever vigilant from threat posed to our liberty and freedom, anti-social elements and external forces by saying that it is our duty and responsibility to take our nation to greater heights.

The Independence Day parade was led by additional SP (Tengnoupal) Yumnam Premjit Singh and participated by 11 contingents.

As a part of the celebration, 53 officials of departments were honoured with Certification of Appreciation, 10 of Red blankets presented to villages heads and Certificate of Achievement awarded to Karate Do, Moreh for winning the 6th International Karate Championship, 2022 .

THOUBAL: The 76th Independence Day was celebrated at the Mini Secretariat Complex here on Sunday with DC A Subhash Singh hoisting the National Flag and taking salute from the march past contingents led by Yairipok SDPO Th Shanti Singh.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Subhash highlighted the achievements and contributions of various departments towards accelerating the pace of development in the district.

The DC also mentioned that under Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyan, Thoubal was awarded the 2nd best performing district among 272 districts.

He also stated that towards ensuring safe and adequate drinking water, the PHE department in the district has taken up 35 water supply projects under the Jal Jeevan Mission and six villages in the district have become "Har Ghar Jal village " .

Appreciation and commendation certificates were distributed to 118 staffers and officials of various departments in recognition of their valuable services rendered to the people of the district.

Copies of Manipur today Special Issue published by DIPR were also distributed to the gathering.

KANGPOKPI: The district administration on Monday celebrated the 76th Independence Day at the Brigadier Thomas Ground as DC Kengoo Zuringla hoisted the National flag and took the salute from 18 marching contingents commanded by Gamnom Sapormeina police station DSP L Seimang Khongsai.

Addressing the gathering, DC Kengoo Zuringla said that the celebration of the Independence Day reminds us that our country's freedom did not come easily, that is why we pay our due respect to the freedom fighters that fought against the British Empire.

She said the Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav which began on March 12, 2021 will continue till August 15, 2023 to celebrate the country's glorious history of its people, culture and achievements.

Copies of 'Manipur Today' magazine special edition published in connection with the 75 years of India's Independence by the Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Manipur were also distributed to attendees of the function.

CHANDEL: The District administration joined the Nation in celebrating the 75 years of its Independence at the Maha Union Hr.

The function held on Monday commenced with the parade inspection, hoisting of the tricolour and singing of the national song led by DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar.

The march past was participated by contingents from police department, schools, colleges, health workers, ex-serviceman etc., of the district.

Cultural and modern dance were also presented by the school students and cultural troupes of the district.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Rajkumar explained that certain restrictions imposed by the government are solely for the security and safety of the people at large.

During the function 'Chandel Today' a special issue publication, published by the District Information Office, Chandel was released by the DC and the SP while a friendly football match was played between the DC & SP team and Village Chiefs' team.

KAMJONG: Kamjong district celebrated 75 years of India's Independence on Monday with a large turnout from the public at Kamjong Higher Secondary School playground.

Deputy commissioner Rangnamei Rang Peter hoisted the National Flag and took the Rashtriya Salute as the chief guest from 14 march past contingents, commanded by MPS officer Shemmi Ramror.

Speaking on the occasion, Rangnamei Rang Peter paid tribute to the supreme sacrifices of our freedom fighters and pointed out that India has achieved many milestones in the field of education, agriculture, science and technology, etc., in the last 75 years, but still many issues and challenges such as basic infrastructures, unemployment, women empowerment, etc., need to be addressed.

He also urged all the citizens to be responsible and well informed and to perform our fundamental duties apart from enjoying the fundamental rights guaranteed.

The DC also expressed happiness on the participation of Kamjong's pride Solimla Jajo and Solan Jajo, both of whom had represented the country in the recently held 54th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championships 2002 at the Maldives and had won a medal, at the district level Independence Day celebration.

They were also honoured by the DC by presenting mementoes and gifts.

Certificates of Appreciation were also distributed to many outstanding officials and staff of various departmental offices of the district.

CHURACHANDPUR: The 75th Independence Day was celebrated by strictly adhering to SOPs at Tuibong Peace Ground, here on Monday.

DC Pawan Yadav hoisted the Tricolour and took salute from the marching contingents commanded Thanlon SDPO David Kilong.

The contingents comprised ex-servicemen, civil police (Male & Female), ADC Staff, etc.

Presentation of awards to outstanding social/NGO workers, government employees and march past contingents marked the occasion.

Significantly, chief of Sumchinvum village was presented a citation in recognition and token appreciation of the village achieving cent percent vaccination of eligible villagers.

The celebration was also held across at sub-divisional headquarters and villages where the National Flag was hoisted.
