The Democratic Students Alliance of Manipur (DESAM today urged the underground outfits not to impose unbearable monetary demands to the schools and colleges.

Due to the heavy monetary demands, not only disturbing academic atmospheres of some schools like Central High School, Chalou, Pari Imom Shindam Shang, Pangei in Imphal east district, Kakching Khunou College, Kakching Khunou in Thoubal district but also teachers could not attain classes in hiding themselves for fear of untoward incident on them, he said.
A society that cannot impart quality education to its children can never be marched ahead in the right direction for development.
This should be remembered by the underground groups serving monetary demands to the educational institutions, said Angamba reiterating that considering the plight of the people facing in the present days, undergrounds groups should withdraw their demands.
On the other hand, Manipur government is not seen taking up any long last policy for bringing quality education in the state.
Instead of efforting to modernize the education system to suit with time, they are investing huge amount of money in the modernization of police force, he lamented.
Except awarding meritorious students of the HSLC and HSSLC exams, no other education improvement programme takes up by the state education department.
Authorities should know that this cannot bring quality education in the state.
