Imphal, July 03 2010: Bishnupur District Police Commandos have arrested six cadres of KCP (City Meetei) group during a series of operations launched at Nambol and Utlou village areas from July 1 to 2 .

According to a statement issued by SP of Bishnupur district Jayanta, the arrested cadres have been identified as Laithangbam Ibomcha Singh (34) s/o Chandrababu Singh of Utlou Makha Leikai, Oinam Chandrakumar Singh alias Meijao alias Rocky (35) s/o Mani Singh of Ningthoukhong Kha-Mamang, Thounaojam Ajit Singh alias Thoichoubi (29) s/o late Raghumani of Utlou Mayai Leikai, Tongbram Moupa Singh alias Joy (28) s/o late Ibohal of Utlou Makha Leikai, Laishram Priyokumar Singh alias Dhirembi (44) s/o Thambalngou of Utlou Mayai Leikai and Ngangom Abung Meitei alias Somorjit (29) s/o Bira of Langpok Maning Leikai.

A case has been registered at Nambol Police Station for investigation, the SP informed, adding that preliminary investigation has revealed that the arrested cadres are involved in a number of cases committed by the outfit in Nambol/Oinam areas.

Furthermore, a team of Bishnupur police and Commandos arrested one Nongmaithem Ranjit Singh s/o N Abhiram Singh of Nachou Mayai Mamang Leikai, who is the pradhan of Nachou Gram Panchayat from Nachou on June 26 in connection with extortion of money for raiding fund for KYKL, the SP informed.

A case has been arrested at Bishnupur Police Station for investigation, the SP added.

On the other hand, a team of Imphal East Police Commandos arrested one PLA cadre identified as Khoisnam Kabi Singh (27) s/o late Khoisnam Yaima Singh of Kakwa Maning Maibam Leikai Bokul Makhong from Kakwa Pukhri Achouba Mapal at around 7.30 am yesterday.

According to a statement issued by SP of Imphal East District L Ibotombi Singh, on verification, Kabi disclosed that he joined PLA in 2006 through one Kiran and is now working under the command of one S/S Sgt Kiran under army no.2799.Again on the same day at around 2 pm, a team of Imphal East Police commandos arrested one PREPAK cadre identified as Amom Bhubon Singh (48) s/o late A Kulla Singh of Takhel Makha Leikai from Porompat DC Road.

On verification, Bhubon disclosed that he is a sympathiser of PREPAK since December, 2009.One motorcycle Calibre bearing registration no.MN0-65-1928 (black in colour) was recovered from his possession.

Bhubon is now working under one Oken of Takhel of PREPAK organisation and he was involved in the extortion/collection of money from general public, Government officials, etc for raising party fund, the SP said.
