The new local Deputy Commissioner Tamenglong K Panmei, IAS today arrived here this evening with great hope to serve his own people which were his long dreams since young age.
K Panmei, IAS, was 58 years old of 1996 MT cadre.
He was second son of Late Dihjinpou Panmei and late Ariangailiu of Inriangluang village (old Tamenglong) under Tamenglong police station.
While talking to the reporter, K.Panmei, IAS said that he is happy to take this opportunity to serve his own people.
The government alone cannot bring development for the district but needs full cooperation and above all the people must fully involve in it.
To erase the term 'most backwardness district' is everyone duty.
This should be removed by its own people through self determination, he said.
He also said that it is right time and right opportunity to grasp development and we cannot aspect that other people or government alone will bring development in the region.
If opportunity are not available people have to create it, he added.
All opportunities and facilities are available here, we must do with sincerity what is odd to do and if opportunities are not available we must create it', said K Panmei, newly joint DC Tamenglong.
He also appealed all sections of people to give full support and cooperation while carrying out his duty to serve its own people.
Sumant Singh IAS, former DC Tamenglong was replace by K Panmei, IAS and handing taking charge was done on 1 July 2010 at Imphal.
K Panmei received warm welcome at the official bungalow at Tamenglong district HQs.
In the meantime, at the reception programme one of his younger sisters identifying as one Mathiuduanliu said that she was very happy to receive him as head of the district.
She thanks God and the people who sent him here at Tamenglong as Deputy Commissioner.
She also hopes that her brother would work for the betterment of the people in the district before his retirement adding that it is wish of the government to give him posting.
But the opportunity to serve its own people something great, she said.
