Imphal, July 03 2010:
Decrying the statement of NSUI as irresponsible, ATSUM has challenged the former asking what kind of activities NSUI has done for the improvement of the education system in the State.
In a statement, assistant general secretary of ATSUM Robert Leivon said ATSUM has been tirelessly fighting for the tribal students' rights and so when all the truths about nepotism, muscle power, money power and connection come out in the open in the form of recruitment of Primary and Hindi teachers in the Education Department, it is but natural for ATSUM to condemn the system and the person who is the head of the Department.
ATSUM is not against the Minister but against the system and the fact that the said results have been approved by the DPC Board but denied by the Minister concerned is deplorable.
If the Minister is a responsible morally upright person, then he ought to automatically step down if such kind of rots and scams have been unearthed in his/her department, Leivon observed.
