He further informed that prices for the essential commodities were fixed during the economic blockade.
Now the economic blockade is no longer in force, the business community have to lower their prices which they had agreed to do so.
On the contrary some of the traders were found selling their commodities higher than the prices during economic blockade.
Alamgir added that there is no doubt now the police are also involved in sky-rocketing the prices of various commodities.
The police do not arrest those businessmen who sell their commodities at exorbitant rates but nabbed those volunteers of AMSU who asked the businessmen to lower their prices at a reasonable level.
In spite of all these, the AMSU will continue their drive to stop selling essential commodities at exorbitant rates for the welfare of general public.
