Appointment of Vumlunmang, Moses Chalai hailed

Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO), Churachandpur expressed happiness over the appointment of two tribal officers from Manipur namely Vumlunmang Vualnam of Kuki-Zo community and K Moses Chalai of Mao Naga community as secretaries in the Ministry of Finance.
Terming the appointments as landmark moments for tribal communities of Manipur, a KSO, Churachandpur statement said it was the first time ever that members of the Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities from the Northeast have been appointed to such high-ranking positions in the Union Finance Ministry.
The KSO statement continued that Vumlunmang Vualnam, a 1992 batch IAS officer of Manipur cadre, brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise, having held key positions in both the Union and state governments, including as additional secretary in the Ministry of Finance, joint secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs, and commissioner of health & family welfare in Manipur.
His appointment as expenditure secretary is a proud milestone not only for the Kuki-Zo community but for all tribal communities across the Northeast, KSO Churachandpur said and expressed pride and joy over the appointment.
The KSO also extended its heartfelt congratulations to K Moses Chalai, a 1990 batch IAS officer of the same cadre, on his appointment as secretary, department of public enterprises.
His exemplary service and commitment have long been a source of inspiration, KSO said.
