Kakching women bodies oppose transfer of SP

Imphal, April 02 2025: Enraged by the transfer of Kakching SP Priyadarshini Laishram to Jiribam, representatives of Kakching Apunba Nupi Lup, Kakching Bazar Board and Kakching Keithel Ima Lup have submitted a memorandum to Governor calling for revocation of the transfer order.

Addressing media persons after submitting the memorandum at Raj Bhavan gate, Moirangthem Pishak, a member of the Kakching Bazar Board, said that the frequent transfer of SP of the district has caused severe inconvenience to the people of Kakching district.

"Frequent transfer of SP has prevented the public from building a cordial relationship with the SP, creating a significant gap in the public-police relations, and hindering effective policing," stated Pishak.

SP Priyadarshini had just taken charge of SP kakching only a couple of months ago.

Her hasty transfer to Jiribam is very unfortunate and uncalled for, said Pishak.
