BABINA Group plants saplings, sanitises hospital

On World Earth Day 2025, the BABINA Group of Companies, comprising BABINA Hospital, BABINA Diagnostics and Classic Group of Hotels, organised a tree plantation drive and social service camp in and around BABINA Hospital, Khabeisoi, on Tuesday.
According to a statement, the observance underscored the shared responsibility to protect the planet and reaffirmed BABINA Group's commitment to a sustainable future.
Employees from all three entities took part in meaningful activities that promoted green living and community care.
The tree plantation drive within the BABINA Hospital campus was carried out with the aim of enhancing greenery and contributing to a healthier ecosystem.
The initiative led by Group CMD Dr Thangjam Dhabali, also had BABINA Hospital medical superintendent Dr Shyamkumar Laishram, and general manager Khundongbam Jayanta Singh, along with other staff and volunteers.
Simultaneously, a cleanliness drive was conducted in and around the hospital, particularly along both sides of the Imphal-Ukhrul Road adjacent to the hospital.
Participants collected litter, cleared debris and cleaned the surroundings to create a cleaner and more welcoming environment for the local community.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Th Dhabali pointed out the importance of collective responsibility in tackling climate change and preserving the earth for future generations.
"World Earth Day reminds us of our duty to protect and nurture the planet.
Through efforts like this, we hope to inspire others to take responsibility for their surroundings and the environment at large," he said.
Dr Dhabali also urged the public to be more mindful and responsible, stressing the need to avoid littering in public spaces and to actively maintain a clean environment.
"Even the smallest act of care by each individual can create a meaningful impact," he stressed.
