NIT for state women concludes with message of hope

Imphal, March 22 2025:
The National Integration Tour (NIT) for 34 women from Manipur, organised by Assam Rifles under Operation Sadbhavana, culminated with a grand flagging-in ceremony at Haflong Hall, Mantripukhri.
Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) Major General Ravroop Singh, and ARWWA regional president Navjeet Kaur welcomed the participants as they returned after a 10-day journey across Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, and Kolkata.
According to a press release issued by PRO, IGAR (S), the tour, conducted from March 13 to 22, 2025, aimed at providing the participants with exposure to India's rich heritage, development, and the vital role of women in nation-building.

The women, hailing from different parts of the state, explored prominent landmarks in Gujarat, including the Sabarmati Ashram, Statue of Unity, Dandi Kutir, Adalaj Stepwell, Indroda Park, Akshardham Temple, and Motera Stadium.
A key highlight of their visit was the interaction with Gujarat Governor Acha rya Dewrat, where discussions centred on the role of women in fostering unity and driving social change.
The Governor urged the participants to emulate Gujarat's development model for ensuring peace and prosperity in Manipur.
During their visit to Kolkata, the participants explored iconic sites such as the Victoria Memorial and Mother Teresa's Tomb, drawing inspiration from historical figures who shaped India's inclusive ethos.
They also interacted with General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Eastern Command, Lieutenant General Ram Chander Tiwari on March 21.The Eastern Army Commander highlighted Manipur's potential to emerge as a powerhouse in the sports and tourism sectors and underscored the crucial role of women in driving the state's progress.
He appreciated the participants for stepping out of their comfort zones to explore other parts of India and exhorted them to replicate the positive development models they witnessed during the tour.
As a token of appreciation, he felicitated the participants with shawls, while the women presented him with a traditional stole and a painting from Imphal.
A significant part of the journey was the participants' interaction with GOC, 11 RAPID, Major General Gaurav Bagga at Headquarter 11 RAPID, where they gained a deeper understanding of the Indian Army's contributions beyond security, particularly in fostering national integration and empowering communities.
The statement informed that the NIT was more than just a tour - it was a message of resilience, unity, and empowerment.
It offered the women an opportunity to witness India's economic, infrastructural, and cultural advancements first hand, inspiring them to contribute meaningfully to Manipur's growth.
The flagging-in ceremony marked the conclusion of a journey that left the participants with renewed determination to play an active role in shaping Manipur's future.
