In view of the rising number of Covid-19 cases in the state, the State Covid Control Room has been opened on Tuesday.
As per a memorandum issued by Health and Family Welfare deputy secretary Soiminlian Lengen, the State Covid Control Room will tele-monitor the cases on a daily basis, in addition to recording the oxygen level/temperature record and opening a Home Isolation Helpline for responding to queries and clarifications.
A Covid Admissions Coordination will also be opened for admittance of only eligible patients and providing assistance to the patient in finding a compatible hospital/Covid care centre, subject to the patient's condition.
The eSanjeevani Telemedicine will be operational from 10 am to 3pm daily for OPD consult, while the State Health Agency will open a Non-Covid Hospitalisation Helpline.
Furthermore, a Mental Health Helpline will be launched, daily Covid press release issued and Covid awareness/IEC material provided.
There will be two dedicated ambulances and a Rapid Response Team, separate from control room staff.
Police personnel will also take shifts at the Control Room of the Covid Monitoring Cell, with assistance of 1MR CO at 1MR Banquet Hall.
Meanwhile, AYUSH director Dr Guneshwar Sharma will be the logistics in-charge under the Directorate of Health Services director.
The Health director will issue the order for requisite team/manpower and appoint the team leaders immediately, the memorandum conveyed.
Regardless of the government's efforts to contain spread of the viral disease, two fatalities were reported and 48 people confirmed positive for Covid-19 infection in the state out of 738 samples tested on Tuesday, registering 6.5 per cent test positivity rate.
With the recovery of 91 people, the number of active cases of Covid-19 in the state dropped to 456.Out of 48 new cases (21 male & 27 female), 18 are from Imphal West, 14 from Churachandpur, 10 from Imphal East and one each from Thoubal, Kakching, Kamjong, Kangpokpi, Ukhrul and Chandel districts.
On Tuesday, 91 patients were discharged from home isolation (76), JNIMS (7), RIMS (4) and SHRI (4), taking the recovery rate to 98.14 per cent.
Out of 38 Covid beds in JNIMS, 25 are vacant while there are 32 Covid beds availing in the 62 bedded RIMS facility.
So far, the state has recorded 1936 positive cases and eleven deaths since the beginning of the fourth wave of the pandemic.
The current month has reported 107 new positive cases and two death cases.
As on Monday, 12 D-type and 8 B-type oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities 3,667 vaccine doses administered making the cumulative number of vaccinated population to 31,09,669, out of which, 16,15,580 had taken the first dose, 12,87,712 second dose and 2,06,376 precautionary doses.
