CorCom calls for R-Day boycott
Source: Hueiyen News Service

Imphal, January 20 2015: Coordination Committee (CorCom), Manipur along with Kamatapur Liberation Organization (KLO), National Democratic Front of Boroland (S) and United Liberation Front of Asom (I) has announced boycott of the India's Republic Day celebration due on January 26 in WESEA region.

In a joint statement, the UG groups said, "With the spectacular success of Narendra Modi's brand of politics, India is gearing up to celebrate her Republic day of this Union of states on 26th of January 2015.Youths of the WESEA region in the 21st century, in their formative years seem to be charmed by Modi Magic; and are unaware of the tightening noose of this unitary State as envisioned by its Constitution makers who are tutored by their British colonial masters" .

"In the last decade of the 20th Century, a few sections of the educated youths of our Region, instead of calling for our legitimate right for self-determination and breaking away from the Indian colonial rule, were looking for federal solution for self-rule.

It was quite clear then, that, they had very poor understanding of the core-issue of the conflict that is the annexation of our region by India under threat and coercion, at the same time, the hidden agenda of the basic underlying Principle on which India was established by abolishing above 300 small independent states and unions to make it happen.

It should be abundantly clear if one studies minutely the making of the Constitution of the Indian Dominion that, rather than a true federal set up what this so called Republic represents is a very rigid integration of the geographical entity the name India means.

The Provinces of India, rather than holding devolved federal powers are subservient to the Central Union control under which the talk of self-rule is just a mirage.

The so-called autonomy of the Provincial Legislative Assemblies are devices to extend the alien central control using local politicians giving them shay advantages of the Indian brand of democracy which belies a country run by a 10% of middle class capitalists backed by the huge Armed Forces rather than by true democratic principles.

The exception is of course the Indian occupied Jammu & Kashmir with the supposed autonomy under Article 370 of the Indian Constitution.

The citizens in J&K although holds dear to the Article 370, the bitter truth is that J&K is an occupied territory under heavy Indian military boots,", the joint statement said.

It further observed that "with the advent of Modi, he is scheming to 'kill off' this nominal safeguard J&K currently has under the Article 370.If one is to check on the use of Article 371, anything is possible in Indian politics; even fulfillment of creation of a 'Super State' with the motto 'where ever Hinduism goes, that is India' as stated in the past by some Indian Statesman.

These days religion taking the driving seat in Indian politics, we at the Indian occupied WESEA, need to be acutely alert that none of our constituent Nations have a religious identity.

Any group who may have a nascent aim to have a religion based political identity would be a misfit in our collective psyche.

The WESEA identity is 'gene pool' based with our ancient wisdom mixed with modern political motto such as 'Liberty, Equality, Fraternity' coined by the French Republic would be a distinctive 'tectonic plate' to bring down Indian Occupation of Our Region.

However, we must be realistic.

The Indian establishment by refusing to remove the vicious "Armed Forces Special Power Act (1958)", which is sanctioned by its Parliament forcibly impose only in our region legalize the military occupation over our region.

This has proven repeatedly that Our Region is occupied deceitfully and being held forcibly for the sake of the much used phrase 'the unity and integrity of the Nation" .

"Our peoples must take note that, the above phrase is what the Indian establishment means by 'the main stream'.

Unless a revised Article 371 is revived to allow secession (in contrast Sikkim was compelled to join India in the original Article 371), the talk of democratic resolution to fulfill the aspirations of WESEA is not possible under the current Indian State.

The yearly celebration of this Republic day of India in our Region is not of a normal federal entity, but an unavoidable ritual imposed by an aligned Central Rule over an occupied territory with total Central Control in critical areas to maintain the grip over India's geography at the present and in the future.

Some people in the WESEA region unwittingly, or wittingly because of self interest have been taking part in India celebrating her Republic Day.

Such partaking's are insults to our valiant nationalistic souls of the region who have given their all to undo the wrong that took place at the folding in period of the British Dominion over the WESEA and even today," the joint statement said.

It went on to say, "The Indianizing slogans that have been drummed continuously into the new generations of our youths may be working.

They are either beginning to hide their own identities wrapping the Indian tricolor or have drunk the potion to enter the 'Wonderland' full of dark secrets they cannot fathom out.

In these days of information 'Super High Way' the glory of our region could be forgotten by new generations and facts will be replaced by fiction with ulterior motives.

Every parents, educators and intellectuals, printed words, audio-visual media need to be on alert to keep our identities shine through unless the region decides to commit itself to oblivion.

The world is watching us very keenly on our strategies to liberate ourselves from the Indian grip.

Our people rejecting Indian occupation is an important message to the world.

This can be done effectively, by refusing to take part in Indian National events in our region.

Hence, like in the previous years, we the undersigned fraternal revolutionary organizations have decided that the region should collectively boycott the Indian Republic Day 2015; and are appealing to the people of the WESEA to do so, safely staying indoors, supporting a total shut down of activities from 21:00 hours of January 25 to 18:00 of January 26, 2015.This restriction is not applicable to emergency services, media and religious activities and these should by functioning normally during these hours" .
