CRPF conducts mushroom farming training for villagers

Imphal, November 21 2025:
In a dedicated effort to promote rural livelihood and strengthen community engagement, 169 Battalion CRPF on Thursday launched a 'Mushroom Farming Training Programme' for villagers at F/169 Coy location, Chanting, Imphal East district.
As per a release issued by CRPF, the training aimed to empower local residents especially women and youth with practical skills in mushroom cultivation, an emerging avenue for sustainable income generation.
During the programme, experienced trainers will demonstrate various scientific techniques including substrate preparation, seed inoculation, temperature and humidity management, & harvesting methods.
Participants will also get guidance on marketing opportunities and small-scale entrepreneurship development.
Speaking on the occasion, Suresh Kumar, Commandant, 169 Bn CRPF, emphasized that such initiatives are part of the Force's ongoing commitment to support socio-economic development in remote and rural areas.
He highlighted that mushroom farming requires low investment, minimal space, and offers high returns, making it an ideal livelihood option for village households.
The villagers expressed gratitude to the CRPF for providing hands-on, useful training that can boost self employment opportunities within the community.
Notably, 47 villages are participating in the mushroom farming training.
The programme was attended by Md Yasser Abbasi, 2-1/C; 169 Battalion CRPF; Annamma, DC, 169 Battalion CRPF; Jawed Hussain, A/C, 169 Battalion CRPF; Jitendra Kumar, A/C, 169 Battalion CRPF; B P Bahuguna, A/C, 169 Battalion CRPF; Deepa Choudhary, A/C, 169 Battalion CRPF; Inspector CH Dippe, OC, Sagolmang Police Station and locals of the area.
