CSOs, public bid adieu to Lamnunthem Singson

Denizens of Senapati came together to bid adieu to the departed soul of Lamnunthem Singson, who died in the airplane crash in Ahmedabad on June 12, as her mortal remains was brought from Dimapur on Thursday evening.
Led by the Naga People's Organisation (NPO), a condolence service was also held at Senapati bazar in her honour.
In his addressing, NPO president Kuba Peter extended deepest and heartfelt condolences on the tragic loss of two daughters of the state namely, Lamnuthem Singson and Nganthoi Sharma Kongbrailatpam in the unfortunate Air India plane crash, on behalf of the organisation and citizens of Senapati.
The president appealed to stand in solidarity with the grieving families and share in their sorrow during this time of immense pain and loss.
The president also prayed the Almighty to grant strength and solace to the bereaved families and to let the departed souls rest in eternal peace.
MLAs L Dikho (Mao AC) and Kumo Sha (Karong) also conveyed their heartfelt condolences.
In their messages, the leaders expressed deep shock and shared the grief over the loss of two precious daughters of the state.
Wreaths were also laid on behalf of the two MLAs as well as by ADC Senapati former chairman A Kapani and representatives of NPO, Senapati District Women's Association, Karong Senapati Town Committee, Poumai Naga Union, Makreliu village, Senapati Kuki police and well-wishers.
Kuki Inpi, Sadar Hills president Thangminlen Kipgen expressed gratitude to the people of Senapati for all the love and care shown at the time of grieving and pain of the loss.
Meanwhile, the mortal remains of Lamhunthem Singson, a 26-year-old Air India cabin crew member who died in the June 12 crash, were brought to her home town on Thursday evening via Dimapur Airport in Nagaland.
Singson, who hailed from Kangpokpi district, was a member of the Thadou tribe, associated with the Kuki-Zo community.
Due to ongoing ethnic unrest and security concerns in Manipur, her family opted to receive her body at Dimapur rather than Imphal Airport.
Family members, community leaders, and relatives received her body at Dimapur and transported it by road around 160 km to Kangpokpi.
Her last rites were scheduled to be performed later the same night.
Family members of Singson, relatives and community leaders received the body at the Dimapur airport and paid floral tributes to the young woman who lost her life too early.
Family sources said the last rites of Singson would be done either tonight or Friday as her body would reach Kangpokpi in the late evening.
Officials in Imphal said that it has not yet been decided when the body of the other crew member, Nganthoi Sharma (20), will be brought back to Imphal.
Earlier, family members of both Singson and Nganthoi went to Ahmedabad to complete the necessary formalities for getting the remains of their loved ones.
