Imphal, April 16 2025: The District Magistrate of Imphal West and Imphal East has notified all vehicle owners (private/commercial) plying on the roads within the jurisdiction of the two districts to remove tinted films/glasses from their vehicles within 7 days.

Additionally, no shops/enterprises should sell/install the black tinted films, notified separate orders issued by Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh, the District Magistrate of Imphal West and Imphal East.

It added that only official cars of VIPs/VVIPs and Z/Z+ protectees with valid exemption certificates from the State-Level Committee can use tinted films.

Exempted vehicles should display certificate copies on windscreens, it maintained.
