Wreath laid for Assam Rifles Havildar at Imphal Airport

A poignant wreath-laying ceremony was held yesterday at Imphal Airport to honor the supreme sacrifice of Havildar Rajender Singh Panwal of the 43rd Assam Rifles.
The ceremony, organised under the aegis of Headquarters Inspector General Assam Rifles (South), brought together senior officials, fellow soldiers, and dignitaries to pay their final respects to a soldier who exemplified courage and selfless service.
Havildar Panwal, a native of the Almora district in Uttarakhand, dedicated an extraordinary 38 years to the service of the nation, said a release issued by HQ IGAR(S) .
His long career was defined by unwavering dedication across diverse and challenging operational environments.
Draped in the Tricolour, his mortal remains were received with solemn reverence, symbolizing a grateful nation's respect.
The atmosphere at the airport was one of deep respect and collective mourning.
The ceremony commenced with the formal laying of wreaths by comrades and dignitaries.
A silent tribute was observed to capture the profound sense of loss and the pride felt for a life lived with such honor.
Officers and soldiers bowed their heads in remembrance of Panwal's indomitable spirit.
