KSO, TSA condemn Sehao incident

The Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) has strongly condemned the 'brutal activities' of some Kuki National Liberation Front (KNLF) activists who had allegedly beaten up a group of road construction workers and some villagers of Sehao including the village chief on May 9 .
In a statement, KSO said Sehao village chief Seikhomang Haokip, who was one of the victims, is also a member of KSO Khengjoy Block under Chandel district.
The student body urged the authorities concerned to arrest all culprits involved in the incident and punish them as per law.
KSO also appealed to KNLF not to repeat such acts in future so that peace and harmony can be maintained in the village area.
TSA: Thadou Students' Association (TSA) Chandel District vehemently condemned the Sehao incident.
In the press statement signed by Gund Guite, Secretary of Information and Publicity, the students' body vehemently condemned the incident of brutally assaulting 5 innocent villagers of Sehao including the Village Chief Seikhomang Haokip and 6 labourer who were engaged in construction of PMGSY road by the cadres of KNLF on last Saturday.
The unwanted action of the KNLF cadres on the fateful evening has created a fear psychosis in the minds of villagers particularly the young children and women.
As such, the terrified villagers fled home and took refuge at Relief Camp opened temporarily inside the Khangbarol BDO Office complex, added the Statement.
Appealing to all the armed outfits of the region not to indulge in such atrocious act, the Students' body also warned that it would not tolerate any kinds of atrocities upon the innocent villagers from any organization or group in future.
The Students' body also further appealed to the competent authority to take up necessary action at the earliest in order to restore normalcy in the region.
