CM Ibobi bats for enhancing science & technology activities

Chief Minister O Ibobi has called upon all science students, teachers and its lovers to boost up science and technology activities in the State for a better Manipur on Monday.
Ibobi stated this while inaugurating 'Science Meet 2015' at National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT), Akampat in Imphal East on Monday.
Ibobi was the chief guest of the function.
Addressing the function, CM Ibobi added that at the present age of science and technology the focal theme of the Science Meet 2015 "Science for Nation Building" is very appropriate.
He stated that the development of a nation is measured by the advancement in science and technology.
"We must do maximum research in science to get new technologies" .

The 5-day long Science Meet 2015 is being organised by the Manipur Science and Technology Council (MAJTEC) .
Ibobi added that India executed a series of successful nuclear tests at Pokhran in Rajasthan on May 11 and 13 in 1998 showing to the world the country's technological capabilities in the area of nuclear science, which forms a strong backbone for the country's defence.
"I'm proud of MASTEC, an autonomous body of the Science & Technology Department of the State, taking a leading role in popularization of science and technology," he said.
"Today, science is not only for science students and scientists.
We should say 'science is for all." he said.
Works Minister Dr Kh Ratankumar was the president on the occasion and NIELIT Director Th Prameshwor and MASTEC Director Th Surendranath were the guests of honour.
A part of the Science Meet, programmes like science model exhibition, book exhibition, IT show, science short play competition, puppet show and science behind miracle will be held.
