IEC campaigns continue across hill districts under Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan

District administrations across several hill districts of Manipur continued conducting extensive Information, Education and Communication (IEC) campaigns under the "Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan - Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle" initiative to spread awareness and facilitate access to various government welfare schemes inremote tribal areas.
SENAPATI
In Senapati district, the District Administration successfully conducted the second day of the IEC campaign under the DA-JGUA initiative for the Paomata TD Block at DRDA Hall, Paomata Centre.
The programme was held under the supervision of Sheveine, BDO/SDO Paomata, who welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of the campaign.
She stated that the initiative aims to create awareness and empower tribal communities through active participation in government welfare programmes.
Participants were briefed on services provided by departments including Agriculture, Health, District Child Protection Unit, Social Welfare, Forest, Banking Institutions, Horticulture and CAF & PD.
Information was also shared on welfare schemes such as PM-KISAN, ration card services, eKYC, health cards, screening of non-communicable diseases and sponsorship programmes for tribal villages.
Representatives from various departments sensitised attendees on schemes including PM-KISAN, Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY), Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSBY), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and other departmental programmes.
The campaign also featured a plantation drive led by the BDO Paomata and a village transect walk involving residents of the host village and neighbouring villages.
Around 455 participants from 16 villages attended the programme, while 11 departmental stalls provided on-the-spot services and awareness to 258 beneficiaries on schemes including ration card services, Mission Vatsalya, PM-KISAN, PMJJBY, PMSBY, PMMVY, old age pension and disability schemes.
Screening for non-communicable diseases and distribution of 200 tree saplings were also carried out during the campaign.
CHURACHANDPUR
Churachandpur District Administration conducted large-scale IEC campaigns across several locations including Misao Lhahvom Community Hall in Saikot subdivision, Mata Community Hall in Churachandpur subdivision, Suangdoh village, Sangaikot village, Sumchinvum village and Chongkhozou village.
The campaign focused on spreading awareness and facilitating access to welfare schemes under PM-JANMAN and DAJGUA initiatives.
Services provided included Aadhaar enrolment, ration card services, Ayushman Bharat (PM-JAY), caste and domicile certificates, Kisan Credit Card (KCC), PM-KISAN, Jan Dhan accounts, PMJJBY, PMSBY, social security pensions, MGNREGA, PM Vishwakarma, Mudra loans, PMMVY, ICDS and immunisation services.
Free health check-ups, immunisation drives, diagnostic services and distribution of essential medicines were also conducted, while the Forest Department distributed free saplings to participants.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from people across the district.
NONEY
In Noney district, the District Administration organised a plantation drive at the new DC office complex as part of Jan Bhagidari Week and IEC Campaign 2026.The drive was launched by ADC ST Rithung Anal.
Junior MCS officer Sheikh Aslam Khan, SDO/BDO Longmai Md Ziaur Rahman, DLOs and other officials participated in the programme.
PHERZAWL
The Pherzawl District Administration continued the EEC campaign at Tinsuong village under the leadership of DC Mannuamching and supervision of ADC Zosanglur Joute and SDC Parbung, Lunlenmoi Vaiphei.
Villagers, including school children and elders, participated enthusiastically in the awareness activities organised by different departments.
The DFO, Pherzawl led a tree plantation drive, while Aadhaar enrolment and updation drives were conducted for school children.
The Health Department team led by Dr Thanglienzuol, MO CHC Parbung organised health screening camps and facilitated enrolment for Chief Ministergi Hakshelgi Tengbang (CMHT) and PM-JAY health cards.
TAMENGLONG
In Tamenglong district, Janjatiya Garima Utsav 2026 was organised at Kahulong to serve four villages namely Bamgaijang, Chaengdai, Kahulong and Sangrungpang.
Addressing the gathering, SDO D Meidinbui said the initiative aims to deliver essential services to remote communities under the theme "Sabse Door, Sabse Pehle" .
The programme provided free health check-ups and medicines to villagers.
Veterinary officials also encouraged villagers to diversify into livestock rearing such as cows, goats and pigs, highlighting government schemes and insurance facilities available for animal husbandry activities.
Altogether, 12 line departments set up stalls to provide services and information directly to villagers living in remote areas.
Organised under the Jan Bhagidari Abhiyan initiated by the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, the outreach campaign will continue till May 25, extending activities to the Tamei and Tousem blocks.
