Assam Rifles celebrates Raksha Bandhan across State

In a heartfelt celebration of tradition, patriotism, and community bonding, Assam Rifles commemorated Raksha Bandhan across Manipur with vibrant participation from civilians, students, and troops.
The festival served as a powerful reaffirmation of the Force's enduring role as both protectors and partners in peace.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the central event at Mantripukhri, featured sisters from the Brahma Kumaris tying sacred Rakhis to Assam Rifles personnel, symbolizing spiritual solidarity and mutual respect.
Messages of harmony and moral upliftment added depth to Ihe occasion, reinforcing Assam Rifles ethos of compassionate service.
At another event in Mantripukhri Garrison family members and residents tied Tiranga-themed and traditional Rakhis, echoing the spirit of the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign.
Across Imphal West and Bishnupur, the celebrations reflected patriotic fervor and emotional warmth.
In Churachandpur, students from VK Tawna School tied Rakhis to personnel, expressing heartfelt gratitude for their service and sacrifices.
The celebration reflected Assam Rifles' continued efforts to engage meaningfully with the local population through inclusive and culturally rich initiatives.
At Thoubal, Rakhi was celebrated with fanfare, while at Nambol, sisters from Oinam village, led by social worker Mr.Shorankumar Oinam, honored troops with Rakhis and heartfelt gestures of gratitude.
In Kakching District, Meira Paibis from Heirok and students of Assam Rifles Public School tied Rakhis and presented letters to soldiers at the garrison.
At Waikhong COB, women and children participated in Rakhi-making and painting competitions, celebrating the emotional essence of the festival and supporting local artisans through eco-friendly handmade Rakhis.
Adding a deeply meaningfill dimension, Assam Rifles in collaboration with Sajjan Shakti Nyas, Mumbai, also organised an outreach programme at Mission Blind School, Kakching.
Rakhis were ceremoniously tied to 20 visually impaired students, and essential items including blankets and Syntex water tanks were distributed.
Cultural performances featuring the Assam Rifles anthem and nostalgic songs from the 1990s added emotional resonance.
In the remote villages of Phaihengkot, Old Samtal, New Samtal, Kovang, Tuitong, and Phoelin, girl students and women engaged in drawing and letter-writing activities, strengthening bonds of trust and affection with soldiers stationed in these border regions.
In Chandel District, Raksha Bandhan was celebrated in Joupi, Molcham, Changpol, Phaisanjang, Gamphazol, and Chakpikarong, where local women and students tied Rakhis and shared handwritten letters with troops.
At forward locations of Moreh, Tengnoupal, Khudanthabi, and Kwatha, Raksha Bandhan was marked by greeting card competitions and Rakhi ceremonies, showcasing the creativity of local children and the emotional connection between the Force and the people.
In Ukhrul District, the Somsai Battalion organized celebrations at Saint Joseph's School (Tolloi), Kasturba Balika Vidhyala (Poi), Primary School (Tusom CV), and Kendriya Vidyalaya (Ukhrul town).
Civilians, including students and community members, participated in the festivities, tying Rakhis to soldiers and exchanging gifts.
The Shangshak Battalion celebrated Raksha Bandhan, with enthusiastic participation from local women, schoolgirls, families of personnel, and students of Assam Rifles Public School.
