Weapons recovered, bunkers dismantled, UG cadre held

Imphal, March 23 2025:
Security forces conducted a series of successful operations across various districts, resulting in the recovery of arms and ammunition and the arrest of a PLA cadre.
According to a statement issued by the Manipur Police Control Room, operations were carried out on Saturday, in different parts of the state, including Senapati, Kangpokpi, Kakching, and Thoubal districts.
In Senapati district, security forces recovered four Bolt Action Single Barrel Guns and fifteen 12 Bore ammunition from Henbung village under Senapati police station.
Similarly, in Kangpokpi district, a search operation conducted at K Langhnom and Khengjang villages led to the recovery of 18 Pompi Guns, one High-Explosive (HE) Rocket, and one country-made projectile launching weapon.
During another operation in the Moltinchan village area under Sugnu PS, Kakching district, security forces recovered one locally made Pompi, two Single Barrel Guns, one .303 Rifle with a magazine, one modified CMG Carbine, nine .303 rounds, and four 7.62 mm rounds.
Additionally, three IEDs weighing 1.5 kg, 1 kg, and 600 g were recovered.
The search also led to the discovery of 15 AK-47 empty cases, 20 .303 empty cases, 20 7.62mm empty cases, 32 INSAS empty cases, three Pompi shells, two BP helmets, two pairs of jungle boots, four BP jackets, two tear gas smoke shells (CS), 16 tear smoke shells, and an empty rice bag.
Security forces also arrested a cadre of the proscribed People's Liberation Army (PLA), identified as Samurailatpam Haridas Sharma (49) from Khongjom Chingtham Mayai Leikai under Khongjom PS in Thoubal district on Saturday.
One mobile phone was seized from his possession.
Additionally, on Friday, security forces destroyed three illegal bunkers at Purum Likli hilltop on the eastern side under Sagolmang PS in Imphal East district.
