IDPs submit memorandum to Governor, CS & DC Bishnupur, demand livelihood support for IDPs

Bishnupur, April 21 2025:
A joint delegation comprising members of the Churachandpur Meitei United Committee, Meitei Society Churachandpur, Churachandpur Meitei Ethnic Clash Victims Committee, Ima Leimarel and Nupi Samaj submitted a memorandum to Governor Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Chief Secretary of Manipur and Deputy Commissioner of Bishnupur.
Speaking to the media persons after submitting the memorandum, Churachandpur Meitei United Committee, Co-convenor Naba Ningthoujam stated that after the eruption of ethnic violence in the State since May 3, 2023, many have left homeless and is left in despair, to support their livelihood the Government must set up livelihood programmes to provide employment for the internally displaced persons based on their skills and qualifications.
He also appealed to the Government to allot 0.04 acres of land at Phougakchao Ikhai to facilitate the resettlement and rehabilitation of the affected individuals, until they could return to their original homes, said Naba.
