The JAC Against Sadar Hills, Kangchup has categorically stated that village no 59 Kharang Koireng village and village no 57 Kangchup are included in Imphal West I and have been paying land revenue to SDC Lamsang for the last more than 70 years.
However, on the principle of co-existence, schools, veterinary hospital and public health centre were allowed to build in the valley for convenience of all people, said a release issued by the JAC.
The existing office of SDC Kangchup, Sadar Hills also falls within village no 56 Kadangband and the village is not included in Sadar Hills.
Seeking immediate attention of the Govt authority, the JAC cautioned that encroachers donning the role of owners would lead to unwanted incidents among the people in case the Government fails to take up necessary actions on time.
It also the demanded the Government to produce a white paper on the status of village no 57 Kangchup, village no 56 Kadangband, village no 59 Kharang Koireng and village no 47 Kaotruk, presently under the administrative jurisdiction of SDC Lamsang.
