Imphal, April 26 2025:
Pointing out the swift action taken by the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister within two days of the Pahalgam attack, Shiv Sena has questioned why the conflict in Manipur has persisted for almost two years.
Addressing a press meet held at Shiv Sena Manipur's office in Babupara on Saturday, state party president Tombi commended the central government's announcement of ex-gratia for all those killed and injured in the Pahalgam attack.
He, however, pointed out that in Manipur, hundreds, including young children, have lost their lives and thousands have been displaced, yet no concrete measures have been taken for their wellbeing and security.

While noting that only a week is left until the conflict reaches the two-year mark, he rued that both the central and state governments have failed to restore normalcy in the state.
He reminded that the former Governor of Manipur, along with a security advisor and other top officials, had already hinted on the involvement of foreign elements and terrorists in the violence.
"There is evidence to support these claims, yet attempts have been made to cover them up," he contended, decrying the continued act of treating Manipur as a stepchild.
Questioning the disparity in treatment, Tombi cautioned that the people would take a unanimous stand if the suppression continues.
He urged the government to address the current situation in the state as early as possible, while also questioning why no military actions have been initiated against Kuki terrorists who are engaged in proxy war.
