Waree Leeba festival wraps up

Imphal, April 25 2025:
With the aim to promote the precious narrative art form of Manipur "Waree Leeba" to the Meiteis residing at the other States, the annual "Waree Leeba Cheirao Festival" which began from April 21 at Radha Krishna Mandir, Hojai Gouranagar Maning Leikai, concluded on Thursday.
The 8th edition of the 4-day festival was organised by the Repertory of Waree Leeba, Manipur in collaboration with its Brahmaputra Valley Branch, Hojai Assam.
The closing event was attended by Manipuri Sahitya Parishad Hojai District Committee, president Tensubam Manihar Singha as chief guest and Repertory of Waree Leeba, Brahmaputra valley Hojai Branch, president Kshetrimayum Bishnu Singha as president.
At the festival, 9 Wari Leeba artists from Brahmaputra Valley Branch, 3 each from Barak Valley Branch Cachar and Manipur participated in the Waree Leeba festival.
The three Waree Leeba artists from Manipur were Takhellambam Shyamkanhai Singh, Samurailatpam Kunjabihari Sharma and Khadangbam Ingocha Singh.
Later at the event the artists were felicitated with a Participation Certificate as encouragement.
