AR engages communities through sports and cleanliness initiatives

Imphal, April 24 2025:
Assam Rifles organised a series of community outreach activities on Wednesday at Chandel and Tengnoupal districts of Manipur.
According to a release issued by IGAR (South), these initiatives aimed at strengthening unity, promoting health and hygiene and nurturing civil-military relations.
In Chandel district, a friendly volleyball match was conducted at Kovang, Aibol Joupi, and Old Samtal villages.
The spirited event witnessed active participation from local youth and Assam Rifles personnel.
Over 113 villagers gathered to witness the event, which not only encouraged sportsmanship but also served as a platform to deepen community ties.
Winners and outstanding performers were felicitated with attractive prizes.
Simultaneously, in Tengnoupal District, Assam Rifles conducted a cleanliness drive at Pangal Basti and Chavangphai Village (Kaikong Dung and Luipi Dung).
The event saw enthusiastic participation from approximately 150 individuals, including members of various Civil Society Organisations.
The drive, conducted under the guidance of community leaders, emphasized the importance of hygiene, environmental care, and civic responsibility.
These twin initiatives underscore Assam Rifles' commitment to holistic community development, youth engagement, and environmental awareness in Manipur.
