Imphal, April 25 2025:
The United Meitei-Pangal Committee (UMPC), Manipur has expressed its deepest sorrow and strongest condemnation of the recent heinous attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam, Jammu & Kashmir.
"This cowardly and senseless act of violence has claimed innocent lives and shattered the peace of a region already grappling with tension.
The victims, who had simply ventured out in the spirit of tourism, peace, and discovery, did not deserve such cruelty", said UMPC Manipur in a release.
UMPC Manipur also conveyed its heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families and solidarity with the survivors and people of Jammu & Kashmir during this tragic moment.
UMPC Manipur prayed for strength and resilience for the families of the victims, and for the speedy recovery of the injured.
"We call for justice to be delivered swiftly and fairly, and urge the authorities to ensure that such acts do not go unpunished", it added.
UMPC Manipur also appealed to both the Central and State Governments to take urgent and decisive action in bringing the perpetrators to book, and to ensure that those responsible are punished strictly, irrespective of caste, creed, religion, or nationality.
"Terrorism has no place in a civilized society.
Such violence only weakens the fabric of our diverse nation and attempts to derail peace and communal harmony.
The unity and safety of all citizens, including visitors, must be preserved at all costs", said UMPC Manipur.
