Thoubal College launches Plastic Free Zone campaign

Thoubal, April 21 2025:
Directorate of Environment and Climate Change in collaboration with Thoubal College NSS Unit, NCC, Internal Quality Assurance Committee (IQAC) and Green Audit Committee organised a campaign on "Banning the use of Single Use Plastic on the College Campus" at Thoubal College Multipurpose Hall.
The inaugural of the campaign was attended by Thoubal College, Principal Professor, M Bina Devi as chief guest and Thoubal College Teachers' Association, president N Ibobi as functional president.
As part of the event, Professor M Bina with the gathering took a pledge to avoid single-use plastic, to educate others about the impact of single-use plastic to the environment, and to make the locality, surroundings and the planet a plastic free zone.
The chief guest later declared the campus of Thoubal College as "Plastic Free Campus" .
The students and faculties of the college also held a cleanliness drive at the campus and picked up plastic waste.
Speaking at the event, Professor Bina stated that the campaign was launched with the aim to educate the people about the environmental impact of plastic waste and appealed to the people to opt for other environmentally friendly substitutes for plastic to reduce plastic waste.
