Call for Humanitarian Help : Assam, Meghalaya Flood Relief Fund 2014 launched

Imphal, September 30 2014 : Extending its humanitarian services towards the lakhs of flood affected people of Assam and Meghalaya states, the Far East India Solidarity Forum which was established with an objective of building a unified character among the various communities of states lying in the easternmost part of India, in collaboration with the Hueiyen Lanpao Group of Publications, has today launched a Fund entitled 'Assam and Meghalaya Flood Relief Fund, 2014" .

The Fund generated on the occasion of 118th Birth Anniversary of Hijam Irawat today has collected an amount of Rs.1, 40,800/- from 23 donors belonging to different walks of life on its first day.

Among those who generously contributed Rs.10,000/- each to the fund are P.Dhanakumar, IPS from Haobam Marak Imphal; W.Chandrakumar, MCS from Kwakeithel Imphal; S.Niladhaja from Dhobi Machu Leirak; A.Radhakrishna, EE, from Sagolband Meino Leirak; M.Harekrishna, IAS from Sagolband Moirangmayum Leirak; Heigrujam Jugin of Sagolband; Sorokhaibam Saratchandra from Lamding Cherapur; Bijaya Yumlembam of AIR Imphal; Huidrom Vikram of HVS Constructions and S.Memcha Devi Roy, ARC, Manipur Bhavan Kolkata.

.LSantosh from Yourabung, Tokeswari Elangbam of AIR Imphal, Maisnam Lekhendro, CO BSF from Kwakeithel Moirangpurel, Potsangbam Manikanta, IPS (retd) from Kwakeithel, Wahengbam Nungshitombi from Wangkhei Lourembam Leikai, L Rajmohon, retd.Secretary BSEM and RK Anilkumar, OC Sugnu police station have contributed Rs.5000/- each to the newly generated Fund.

Among those who generously donated to the fund are Yumkhaibam Biren from Malom Tuliyaima (Rs.3000), Seram Neken from Singjamei (Rs.1000), Toijam Jiten from Kairang Mayai Leikai (Rs.500), Salam Sovachandra from Keibul (Rs.500), Pechimayum Bangkim from Salam (Rs.500), and Maibam Brajamani from Salam (Rs.300) .

The Far East India Solidarity Forum and the Hueiyen Lanpao Group of Publications further appeal to the generous citizens of the state to donate their contributions towards the fund to be sent to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund of the two states.

The contributions may be handed over to the office of the Hueiyen lanpao Group of Publications at Sega Road Thouda Bhabok Leikai Imphal either in cash or account payee cheque drawn in favour of 'Assam and Meghalaya Flood Relief Fund 2014' .

Names of the generous donors will be published subsequently in this daily.
