National Integration Tour culminates with flag-in ceremony at Pallel Garrison

Pallel, February 23 2026:
The Flag-In Ceremony of the 15-day National Integration Tour (NIT) for representatives of Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) was held at Pallel Garrison, Kakching District, marking the successful conclusion of an initiative under the Civic Action Programme.
According to a release issued by the IGAR (South), the tour was designed to foster national unity, enhance awareness of developmental initiatives and strengthen the bonds between remote border communities and the national mainstream.
The ceremony was graced by Ajay Kumar Bhalla, Governor of Manipur and Nagaland, accompanied by the First Lady of Manipur.
In his remarks, the Governor commended the initiative for its role in inspiring youth, instilling confidence and encouraging constructive participation in nation-building efforts.
He highlighted the importance of such outreach programmes in bridging communities and nurturing national pride.
A total of 23 participants, comprising 13 men and 10 women, undertook the journey which provided them with first-hand exposure to India's cultural heritage, democratic institutions and developmental milestones.
Their itinerary included visits to the Kohima War Memorial, the Statue of Unity, Atal Bridge, Dandi Kutir and the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad, where they also interacted with REACHA participants.
In New Delhi, the delegation visited India Gate and other prominent national institutions, while engaging with distinguished dignitaries including Droupadi Murmu, President of India; Nityanand Rai, Minister of State for Home Affairs; Lt Gen Bhavnish Kumar, General Officer Commanding, Delhi Area; Acharya Devvrat, Governor of Gujarat; Maj Gen Gaurav Bagga, General Officer Commanding, 11 Infantry Division, Ahmedabad; Maj Gen Jai Singh Bainsla, Additional Director General, Assam Rifles; and Chandrashekhar H Vijayashankar, Governor of Meghalaya.
These interactions offered valuable insights into governance, national security and development, while reinforcing the spirit of integration.
Following the formal proceedings at Pallel, the delegation engaged with students of the Skill Development Centre, motivating them towards skill enhancement, self-reHance and constructive nation-building.
The ceremony also featured the screening of a video showcasing the delegation's journey, followed by reflections from participants who expressed gratitude for the opportunity.
The event concluded with the rendition of the National Song and the National Anthem, reaffirming the collective spirit of unity and patriotism.
Assam Rifles reiterated its commitment to peace, development and harmonious civil-military relations through sustained outreach initiatives under the Civic Action Programme.
