Capacity building programme on Photography and Videography concludes at Bishnupur

The three-day capacity building programme on Photography and Videography, jointly organised by the Divisional Forest Officer (DFO), Bishnupur Forest Division, and Department of Textiles.
Commerce & Industries, under the Raising & Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) Scheme, concluded today at RCDD Hall, Thaninkhul in Bishnupur district.
The programme was organised with the objective of equipping youths with skills in photography and videography and encouraging them to explore livelihood opportunities, particularly in the field of wildlife photography.
The valedictory function was attended by Divisional Forest Officer, Bishnupur, Waikhom Romabai; Wildlife activist Elangbam Premjit; and RFO Moirang, Rk Sadananda Singh as presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, DFO Bishnupur W Romabai stated the Bishnupur district has several tourist destinations which provide opportunities for youths to generate income through photography and videography services for visiting tourists.
She said the training programme was organised to help participants understand the professional aspects of photography and videography and develop livelihood opportunities through such skills.
She further said the initiative was launched to provide aspiring photographers with knowledge about the technical and professional elements required to pursue photography as a career.
She added that the programme also aimed to encourage youths to explore various fields including wildlife photography and general photography according to their interests.
Rombai expressed hope that even if one participant succeeds in pursuing photography professionally, the objective of the training programme would be considered fulfilled.
During the programme, several renowned wildlife photographers and professional photographers imparted training and shared practical knowledge with 33 participants.
The trainees were also taught about opportunities to earn income through wildlife photography and related activities.
The programme concluded with the distribution of certificates to participants who successfully completed the training.
